Call Me Cliché

I know it’s very Things White People Like of me, but The Wire is a fucking great show.

Which begs the question, at what point is something so great that it becomes so “cool” and chic that it’s uncool to like it? I feel like this is a constant battle I’m left fighting.

Some popular things are popular for a reason. There’s a reason everyone loves the Beatles and can have their own experiences with their songs. There’s a reason why Seinfeld is considered by some the greatest television show of all time.

Because they’re fucking great. And it’s not cliché to think it or say it. Otherwise, we’d all be stuck watching David Lynch movies and listening to Bauhaus.
